Screening for Brain Metastases in Patients with HER2-positive Breast Cancer
The incidence of brain metastases, for which effective treatment options are limited, has increased such that brain metastases may develop in up to half of patients.1
Screening for symptomatic brain metastases is necessary in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Early detection and treatment of brain metastases may improve the quality of life (QoL) and survival in these patients.2
